Catch the Draft LIVING IN COMMUNITY
In this book I continue to develop some of the important life lessons I have learned from Cycling.
Drafting in cycling is when a cyclist gets in behind a group of other cyclist and takes advantage of the draft making it a lot easier to ride. In this book I am looking specifically at groups of riders and how they can form a community and what that community might look like. I will also be looking at the differences in groups and the difference that it makes in how we feel, relate and get along in a community.
The importance of having a community and the advantages are numerous. There are so many things that we can learn here and I believe this is one of the most important books in this series.
The reason is that community is so important in our lives. It is important for each of us as individuals for our own personal growth and support. But it is also important for us to be able to encourage and help others grow in their lives. May it help you strengthen your relationships and set new goals for you and your community life.
Through this book you will discover from my experiences on a bicycle some of the lessons I have learned and you too might find them helpful. Many people have enjoyed my first two books in this series and I think you will enjoy this one too.

What an interesting perspective on joining a community and how one might respond to the group patterns, individual personalities and one's own needs. The author talks about two totally different types of communities - bicycling and church groups. While reading about his personal experiences, likes and dislikes and preferences, I was able to recall some of the groups with which I have been involved: professional groups, tennis, skiing and other sports groups, women's groups. Each group has its own purpose and specific dynamics. I have never before actually verbalized how the style of a particular group may at first seem to fit my needs and then later not. The author goes into great detail about his particular group experiences but it is a reminder that this is a universal phenomenon. As humans, we are social beings. We may choose to operate alone but we succeed so much more easily in any life task when we work together with others. Animals function best within communities and so do humans. But finding and connecting with the best group for our individual needs is the task and the solution.Product details

Though I haven't read this book I have read Part 1 and feel that anyone reading the Book Description should be forewarned that although this book, which is so short it should be called a pamphlet, is about the higher mental state experienced while bicycle riding, if it is anything like Part 1 it is really more about believing in Jesus and Catholicism.
I suggest reading my full review of Part 1.
